Eclipse: The Verdict

Hi and Welcome to Mac’s Twi-Attack! 

This will be my last blog for some time.  I don’t really feel the need to blog photos and interviews.  We really are here for the Twilight Saga and Breaking Dawn is not due to start filming in what seems like an eternity much less on the big screen.  If your bored go through my old blogs.  There is actually some interesting stuff there.

Eclipse:

Now I am so happy to announce that I watched a silly move called Knight and day from 9:00 PM to 11:00 pM and did not have to leave the theatre to go get in line.  Yes I picked a small out of the way venue this year due to the fact that standing in line for New Moon was ridiculous, especially since I didn’t care for the movie that much.  I still sat in the first section/middle.  To my mind the most perfect seats ever.  There were 5 of us.  My mother wore a Team Alice shirt because she thinks she is cute, My youngest sister wore a Team Emmit because he never gets any lines and he is hot, and of coarse I wore TEAM EDWARD…  Well not really a Team Edward, but a shirt with Rpatz as Edward on it with Eclipse spelled out underneath.  It was hot, so in turn I was hot.  At least I think so. There were lots of people there from young to old, some even had their babies.  Now why you would drag you 3 month old to a midnight movie doesn’t compute in my mind.  That is truly die hard.  The theatre was not as organized as San Tan in Scottsdale (I wish I would have been there since cast members attended).  I had to remember that I was in East Texas!  We just go with the flow, there are rules, but they are simple.  And noone is telling you “sorry this line is full.  You have to go around to the end of the other.”  Then you get to the other and it is not 10 yards from the end of the first.  The nerve!  The movie did not start on time, but time is relevant when you are up at 12:00 AM. 

The theatre was very quiet through the credits and then it erupted in applause as the movie started.  I did not like the beginning.  It should have been slower but who am I?  I really like this movie though.  It will never be as good as Twilight because Catherine did so much with so little and the music was incredible but Eclipse was still much better than New Moon (I may be biased since this was my fav of the 4 books).  I have some points to make that I really wish they would get with he picture, literally and some highlights too.

1.  The wigs suck!  That’s the easiest way to state it.  With all that money why can they not get this right.  For goodness sake use Jackson’s own hair.   The only time I thought Bella’s hair was ok was when the front was pulled back, but my mother disagreed.  We Twi fans are broken on all sides ! LOL!!!!

2.  Rosalies story was very short, but it still gave you the picture.  I still don’t like her and never will.  At least she was beautiful this time.

3.  Kristen did much better but Good Lord its so pushed to show emotion. Same facial expressions over and over.  Robert is so forlorn even when he is supposed to be happy.  I too saw Remember Me and it was wonderful!  I know he can act!  Can someone please tell him this!

4.  The change of scenes was giving me whip lash.  Slade tried to put everything in there but missed the substance of the scenes.  The action could have been more phenomenal if slowed down a little and built up to it a little longer.  I can’t wait to see extended scenes on the DVD.  It would have been better if it was longer.  Why cut it so short.  We were there, we already paid and would have paid regardeless of the time.  Truly I did not want the movie to end.  I love a good long book and a good long movie.

5.  The music/score was much better.  It did not overwhelm you and take over the movie.  New Moon was so botched in this sense that I can hardly watch it.  The music is background, where it should be.

6.  Esme only has one line.  Well I am going to see it again, but what the heck, they hardly give the family any lines at all?  It annoys me.  Where was the part where Alice sees them eloping and is hurt?  Where is the dress?  Are they saving that for Breaking Dawn so they can drag it out?

7.  The camaraderie between the wolves and family was great.  I loved the story telling!  Wolves were still not part of the scene though.  They didn’t mesh well again, too superimposed to look real.  I guess it must be hard to do CGI.  They were better but really awkward and fake looking.

8.  Newborns- well there was so much and so little as to them.  They weren’t very pretty that is for sure!  IDK.. Jury is still out.

Those are my highs and lows.  I loved it.  Really.  I know I am so picky, and critical but I can’t help it.  I love literature and cinema.  I just hate when a great piece of work is put up on the screen and botched because the interpreter (she whom shall never be given credit or named on my blog) can not feel the characters.

If there is any big news I blog.  I will let you know what I think of The Last Airbender.  Can’t wait.  I’m going Tuesday matinee.  That way I don’t have people talking throught he good parts, like Eclipse where I missed parts because of cheering or clapping.  Keep it to yourself..  Keep yourself contained.  LOL (I might have gotten overwhelmed and clapped a time or two, but was never vocal).  So bye for now and have a great Summer!

    Welcome to Mac’s Twi-Attack.

Well I truly feel like I am beating a dead horse (not that I would ever beat a horse!) while I was trying to re-hash all the chapters in Eclipse.  We have all read it over and over, and we are now beeing flooded with clips from the movie.  Not long to wait (tomorrow night) and I have so much going on here I will never get through the chapters and bit off more than I could chew.  And to tell the truth I am not interested at the moment.  Alot is on my mind and plate and it has nothing to do with Twilight.  I love this saga but it is consuming my time trying to blog all the gossip, in which I hate gossip so I have really been off the computer and out of the magazines as of late.  I just want to see the movie.  I have been reading The Host again.  I love it.  I love Sci-Fi and this may be a great movie.  They better film it in Arizona~ I know that Desert so I will be watching!!!!

In other News I heard a rumor that Breaking Dawn will be filming in Louisiana.  Hahahaha.  I sure hope they do not start until Fall and finish during the winter.  Not only is it hot and sweaty there, there are so many bugs they might drag Kristen Stewart off.  On a brighter note, I am close, REALLY CLOSE.  I might try out for an extra part or something.  Here’s to wishful thinking.

Total Eclipse of the Heart- Chapter 11

Hi and Welcome to Mac’s Twi-Attack.  I know I was gone last week but I’ve been in a new routine and doing some research for my own project. 

Let me share this with you too!  I am a Twilight Advocate….. Yep, like you didn’t already know, but I have to explain to some of my closed minded friends why this collection of books is worth a read, and not cultish, or devilish.  It really gets my hair up when someone tells me that this Saga is not meant for Christians.  BLAH!  It has all the right ingredients, just because there are vampires, and werewolves…  God gave us an imagination, also this series has inspired a lot of people to read again.. YEAH!  Anyhow that was on my mind… Just my thought for the day!

I also found this mix on www.twilightguide.com of the Eclipse trailers.  It is so good!  You almost get the whole movie.  Why do they do this to us…   What I love the most is that the fans who make these trailers are more in tune with the feel of the story than the music producers.  The song really fits.  What do you think?

Total Eclipse of the Heart:  Chapter 11- Legends

This was a long chapter.  It opens up to a family scene.   Just a bunch of family and friends roasting hot dogs over a bonfire  But with a closer look you’ll realize this is not your average family since this family is tied together by something they never chose.  They are wolves by blood not by choice.  The entire pack and the older counsel members are all present.  They eat and relax, getting into a comfortable position for legends to be told.  The feel in the air changes as Old Quil begins his stories all the way back to the beginning. 

Quileute’s were not always wolves, first they were spirit warriors.  They could leave their bodies to protect their people.  They were not able to touch them physically but they could use the elements and the animals to scare off warring tribes.   Then many generations past and a great Chief named  Taha Aki came .  He was a good leader but was tricked out of his body by Utlapa.  Utlapa killed his own body and took possession of Taha Aki’s and pretended to be him.  He then forbade anyone from changing into their spirit warriors again. Taha Aki was sad and roamed around unable to do anything else.  He once commanded a wolf down on his people, but the wolf killed one and this mad him suffer more.  The wolf followed him around.  Desolate he asked the wolf if he could make room for him and the wolf said ok.  So, Taha Aki lived on inside the wolf.    Men of the tribe were banned from the Spirit World but one had slipped into it because he understood the wolf.  When he saw what had happened he tried to go back to his body but Utlapa killed him as he was reentering it.  This mad e Taha Aki very angry and he burst forth out of the wolf into a new glorious body.  This made the transition from spirit warrior to Wolf.  Taha Aki would not let anyone go into the spirit world again.  Taha Aki fathered many children and some became warriors and others did not.  This is how the wolf transformation was passed on through the tribe. 

When Taha Aki met his third wife he decided he would not change into a wolf again, he would age with her.  She was his true spirit wife.  When he was very old trouble came.  Women were disappearing from the other tribes.  A group of his sons went out in search of what was stealing the women.    They found a trail, but they did not return.  This happened again and the Wolf warriors went out.  Only one returned but he came back with a cold, stony corpse that he had torn into pieces.  The pieces reached out for each other and this horrified the Quileute elders so they burnt it.  This was the beginning of the Cold One, or Blood Drinker story.  Only one wolf was left to protect them.  But soon the mate of the dead Cold One came.  She killed as she came.  This beautiful cold creature faced of with the last wolf and killed him.  When Taha Aki saw this his rage was so great that he burst forward into his wolf.  He was fighting her and his wife “The third wife”  was distraught.  She had just seen her child killed now it was defeating her husband.  The third wife knew he needed a distraction.  She knew what she had to do, she took a knife, knelt down and stabbed it through her heart.  This was exactly what Taha Aki needed to gain the advantage.  Two of his young sons became wolves too and they killed the woman.  With the death of his Spirit Wife, Taha Aki never changed back to a human and never rejoined the tribe.  Quileute men stopped becoming wolves until a larve coven of Cold Ones showed up.  They said they were not like the others and formed a treaty. 

Bella was so wrapped up in the stories that she didn’t realize the time or that she fell asleep.  Jacob had dirven her to the treaty line.  Jacob was playing nice, he even called Edward.  Bella was too tired to tell Edward everything but something stuck with her.  Who was she most like?

Well today is the day you can buy tickets.  I have decided to take my chances and go on the 30th instead of midnight.  It was so hectic last time, and the line in the middle of the night.  YUCK.  Yes, I’m not too interested in all the screaming neither.  I want to watch it and enjoy.  I am going to check out what time my local theatre is showing and go the next day.   How all are of you planning to watch Eclipse?

Total Eclipse of the Heart:  Chapter 10-Scent

Edward departs and Jacob arrives.  Bella is stressed thinking about the visitor and is doing the dishes.  Jacob starts to help her by rinsing them.  They talk and she tells him she is going to be turned at graduation. This makes him off guard and he cuts his hand.  Bella cleans it all up, with Bleach of coarse.  She is so dramatic.

Jacob knows that Edward is waiting so he asks her to come to La Push for a bonfire and leaves again.  Edward is laughing when he comes in and asks why she had to stab him?  Well shoot, she forgot to clean up the knife.  Bella gets accepted to Dartmouth and is perturbed because she knows this is all part of  Edwards plan to keep her human. 

Where is her stuff, that is the question.  When she tells Edward to ask Alice for it back or where she put it;  it dawns on them that it was collected as evidence.  In the midst of all of this the killings in Seattle are getting worse.  Someone has to stop them before the Volturi come check it out. 

Bella goes out on a limb and asks if she can go to the bonfire….  Edward actually says yes!  They go to retreive her bike becuase she wants to return it to Jacob and she notices Edward’s and the helmet and jacket for her.  She kinda explains to him that riding motorcycles is for her and Jacob because he doesn’t have to slow down too much to do it for her.  Edward drives her to the treaty line to meet Jacob.

My how time flies and now he is 24.  Still a babe.  In more ways than others.

Total Eclipse of the Heart Chapter 8:  Target

Bella Arrives home and finds there’s a message from Jacob.  “He didn’t mean it”.  Well he will have to wait.  She doesn’t want to talk to him right now.  She decides to catch up on her chores since she was hostage for days.  When she gets to her rooms he notices that some of her clothes and pillow are gone.  Immediately she thinks Alice must have tidied up and or taken things.  She asks Charlie if he did the laundry, as if…  He says no and then Edward arrives.  Immediately Edward knows someone has been in her house.  He calls Emmet and Jasper and they come to sweep the woods then he goes off to catch the scent.  Meanwhile the hushed tense convo has Charlie thinking they are fighting and he is happy.

Jacob calls and Bella tries to blow him off, because there are things going on.  Edward talks to Jacob and then they both decide it would be good for him to come over to catch the scent.

Just read on MSN that The Twilight Saga made the top 10 most controversial books of the year for Religious viewpoint, sexually explicit and unsuited to age group.  What world do these morons live in?  You can check it out at  http://www.good.is/post/transparency-the-most-controversial-books-in-america/  and add your own comments.

Okay here is my opinion:

Religious Viewpoints:  What because Bella thinks Edward has a soul, Edward want to wait to get married, and she won’t kill the baby this has to be about religion.  DUMB.  Those are just morals and values and yes they are founded in most religions but never once did Edward say hey I’m not religious, or Bella say hey I don’t believe in abortion, it’s against my religion.

Sexually Explicit: Seriously, this is the so not raunchy story I have ever read!  Really, if you wait til your honeymoon what do you expect is going to happen?  Also, what is wrong with us reading something of this nature when the world exploits sex in so many ways that you cannot escape it.  You can’t even breast feed a child in public because the breast is a sexual sign.  Blech. 

Unsuited to Age group:  Now this is murky.  I would let my young teen read this series because it does have morals and values and it also is a make believe story.  They have to know the difference and it is always good to read something good and clean.  Parents can decide….  I remember when Cider House Rules was required reading for frosh English.  WHAT?  Has anyone ever read it?  I did, and it is so not something teens should be reading…  Unless your indoctrinating them…..  Uh oh.  I’m moving on.   I tried to comment but it kept locking up my computer…  Let me know if any of you check it out.

Total Eclipse of the hear:  Chapter 8 Temper

Jacob and Bella end up at the beach, like usual.  Jacob tells Bella about the pack scandal.  Quil has imprinted and Bella doesn’t know why that’s such a big deal, until he says with Emily’s  niece who is 2.  Bella can’t wrap her mind around it so Jacob explains that he will be the best caretaker, friend and maybe love once she’s old enough.  He won’t age and he’ll always be available to her.  He also goes on to say that it’s not weird if you see it through Quill’s eyes, which Jacob can.  She then asks when Jake will and he says never, angry again.

Jacob baits Bella into a convo about when she will be changed and she tells him graduation.  He explains that biting breaks the treaty.  At this point he says “You’d be better of dead, I’d rather you were”.  Bella is steamed and goes to get her bike and rides home to the Cullens.

She parks her bike next to one that puts hers to shame, and Alice is waiting for her.  Alice is frustrated because she was supposed to keep Bella safe, Bella is frustrated because she can’t make choices for herself and because Jacob’s words hurt her.

Bella wakes up on the bed, knowing she went to sleep on the couch then she realizes Edward is there.  He is all ready for the angry Bear but she’s too happy that he is home and too tired to argue.  Why wasn’t Bella in the bed?  She tells Edward that it was impractical since he didn’t need it, well he kinda tempts her into why it’s practical and once again she goes to far……..  Then she asks about Tanya and Edward is evasive.  He tells her it was nothing.  Tanya was interested but he was not.  Bella doesn’t know what to think.

Total Eclipse of the Heart: Chapter 7

Hi and Welcome to Mac’s Twi Attack!

Finished my Sookie book and really I don’t know if I liked it.  It kinda has the ring of Angel season 5.  You know when they didn’t have anything to write about but kept going to a finale.  I am going to read it again just so that I am not making a rash decision.  So, the jury is still out. 

Rumors:

I see that Kellan and Ashley are supposedly holding out from signing for Breaking Dawn.  Who wouldn’t blame them for wanting more money.  Hello, the way Summit plays us for ours they should get some too…  Anyhow I read the article and I was like hey it says 5th installment or such, that would make the Breaking Dawn 2 movies.  Hmm, I also saw it on E! news.  hahahaha but they get dish from Us weekly. ?????????????

Don’t forget to tune in your TV’s to Oprah on the 13th.  They are really kicking into full gear to get Eclipse out there again.  Like any of us forgot.  Sorry if I sound so bitter, but the news has been so boring lately.

Total Eclipse of the Heart:  Chapter 7 – Unhappy Ending.

In my haste last week I forgot the end of chapter 6.  Duh, if anyone was out there reading they would have noticed.  Edward had to make up his hunting trip so he leaves the not so happy Bella in the custody of Alice (sleepover).  Bella tells Jake, no go on plans to hang out.  Alice shows Bella her car and then up to her room.  Bella is really mad when she sees Edwards room, a big bed is in the middle.  So impractical.

In chapter 7 we get to Rosalie’s story.  She had the perfect life.  She didn’t see hard times growing up.  She was a pet of her parents, had all the perfect clothes, and met the man of her dreams.  The only thing she coveted was her best friends baby.  Yikes, if that didn’t set it up for the next book.  Then her boyfriend turns out to be a jerk and in hidden words he and his buddies do all sorts of unmentionable things to her and leave her for dead.  Carlisle smelling the blood comes to investigate and takes her home.  He turns her and she is forever more the bitter Mega B she is to this day.  She does go on to say that she was jealous of Bella because he wanted her and never wanted Rosalie that way, even though Rosalie didn’t want him. 

I could have almosted liked her.  Almost, but she is sickening to me.  The spoiled, rotten, rich girl who didnt’ get exaclty what she wants so now she will go through eternity bitter and hard hearted (no pun intended).  She should be happy.  Maybe she is so bitter because of the event that led to her turning in life.  She has a wonderful family and the love of her life in Emmit.  Who knows, she irks me bad.

Bella and Alice go to school.  Alice is off to class then Bella hears the roar of a motorcycle.  It’s Jake and
he’s breaking her out.

Hi and Welcome to Mac’s Twi-Attack. 

So, I was thinking I better start hammering out these chapters or I might run out of time.  Time, well sometimes I wish I was a Cullen because then I would have all the time in the world.  Oh, did I ever mention that I really am a Cullen.  My Great Grandmother was Catherine Cullen.  HAH!  Isn’t that funny. She was Irish and German though, obviously her daddy was a Cullen.  I wonder how Carlisle got an Irish name in England.  I might have to do a little research, maybe it is and English name.  Now I’m inspired to check it out.  The history of the name Cullen.

Hi and Welcome to Mac’s Twi-Attack!  Doesn’t it seem like time is running by so fast these days.  I can hardly keep up.  Summer is always the busiest for me.  Well, life is always busy for me.  No time to spare.  I feel like the Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland.  “I’m late, I’m late, for an important date!”.  SERIOUSLY.  Not long now.  I can remember how much anticipation I had for New Moon and now Eclipse is literally around the corner.  How can this be.  Well we still have time to go through it, and I’ll finish my reading again.  Also it is only days away until I have my newest book to my collection “Dead in the Family”.  Woo hoo, I’ll probably stay up all night reading it.  It came out today, but I have to wait for it to ship here. 

Today I was in a store and picked up the most recent copy of People Mag.  Well, I turned automatically to a page with a picture of Robert Pattinson.  I would say yeah, and yummy, but the quote totally threw me off.  I didn’t memorize it or write it down so here is what the just of it was.  He is sick of his gray complexion as Edward and is happy to have the make-up off, so he can look at himself and say “Hey you actually do look healthy”.  Well Rob, I wish you sounded a little more grateful to be playing Edward.  The character did actually shoot you into stardom.  Anyhow, I actually prefer you as Edward. HAH, put that in your pipe and smoke it.  I am a little disappointed, but we all get to say what we want right.

Eclipse Premeire Announced:  LA Film Festival (LAFF)

The LA Times breaks down exactly what is to be gained by having Eclipse debut at the Los Angeles Film Festival (LAFF).

“The annual event, which announced its lineup on Tuesday, will feature the world-premiere screening of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” the long-awaited third installment in the popular vampire franchise. It’s not exactly typical film festival fare, but organizers are hoping it will serve a larger purpose.

Total Eclipse of the Heart:  Chapter 5 Imprint

Now this chapter in the book threw me.  Imprinting is a strange compulsion to understand.  I can’t wrap my mind around it.  I believe in love at first sight, but this kind of devotion would be scary.  What I see in my mind when Jacob explains imprinting is worse than how Edward behaves in regards to Bella and her safety. 

Jacob goes on to tell about Quil loving beign a wolf.   Then he tries to explain the Sam’s story.  Bella seems to understand while he is telling it but she just can’t figure it out in the end.  Sam was in love with Leah.  He then became a wolf, and being scared he ran off because he wasn’t sure how to shift back.  When he finally did everyone was talking about him and he was trying to stay away
from Leah.  He was finally enlightened to the cause and was upset because he couldn’t tell Leah.  One day he went to see her and Emily was there.  All it took was to look at Emily and he was done.  Same feels guilty about Leah, but his love for Emily overrules all other emotions.  Emily couldn’t resist him either and since he imprinted on her, she could know the truth about him.

Jacob is in a tell all mood, and he tells Bella that since they are wolves they do not age until they make the decision to stop.  In all his stories you can hear the bitterness he has in him.  Jacob is not always happy to be what he is.  Bella isn’t really paying attention to this because once she hears he is not aging she is peeved.  She is the only one aging.

Jared has also imprinted on a girl he shares class with named Kim.  Kim was already in love with him so they moved into a natural rhythm.  Bella and Jacob argue over and over, it seems that’s all they can do lately.  But, Bella knows it’s getting late and she needs to go.  Jacob is not too happy but he knows she has to go.  She tells him she’ll come back as soon as she can.
