‘Twilight’ bigger than ‘the Dark Knight’?

December 31st, 2008 by admin

E! Online has an article about how ‘Twilight’ was bigger than ‘The Dark Knight’ when it comes to the overall domestic gross as of this past Sunday. But it isn’t bigger in the US. And my brothers would go crazy and say that if it was counted as how many people actually saw the movie and not how many times people saw the movies over and over, then Twilight would most likely be squashed by The Dark Knight because I doubt that girls went and saw it 10 times in a row like they did Twilight.

With a $167.3 million overall domestic take as Sunday, per Box Office Mojo, Twilight made more than four times its reported $37 million production budget—the best rate of return on any film in the 2008 Top 10, including The Dark Knight. Read the article HERE.

Spanish Kristen, Cam, Catherine Interview

December 31st, 2008 by admin

The Spanish program Fotogramas had an interview with Cam, Kristen, and Catherine. It starts out with the preview in Spanish, but the interviews are, of course, in english. I don’t think we can get enough of Twilight, or ever get enough questions answered from the cast!

Stephenie Meyer Update

December 31st, 2008 by admin

Stephenie’s site has been updated! It includes some of the recognition and kudos she has gotten from various magazines and such.

December 29, 2008

Since 2008 is almost over, I thought I would take a minute to congratulate Stephenie on a successful year. A lot of very exciting things have happened this year, and it has been fun for those of us who are fans of the writing to follow along.

Several major media outlets have also noted the success, and (as long as I am posting something that Stephenie probably wouldn’t approve of) I thought I would post a few of the links for those of you who haven’t heard about the recognition and praise that she has received for the year of 2008:

TIME’s List of ‘People Who Mattered’
USA TODAY’s ‘Author of the Year’
MSN’s ‘Most Influential Women’
THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC’s ‘Most Fascinating People’
OK, I know that the AZ Republic may not be as big as TIME, but it is a very cool experience to be able to open up the paper and be surprised by an article about a family member, so I thought I would include it. Anyway, congrats, Stephenie, and thanks to everyone for joining us during this crazy and exciting year. We wish you all the best in 2009!

Living TV: Rob and Kristen Interview

December 31st, 2008 by admin

The UK’s Living TV has an interview with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in which they discuss the screaming fans of Twilight, box office success, and building up to on-screen chemistry.

“Sometimes I used to go to Kristen’s bedroom, naked,” reveals Robert. He is, as the grin confirms, joking. “I don’t know,” he continues, pondering the chemistry question a little longer. “It’s funny because for all of the romantic scenes we’re both wearing contact lenses. So much of being an actor is eye contact, and we both had these ‘masks’ on our eyeballs, so we worried that there wouldn’t be any (chemistry).” Read it HERE.

Reuters talks about why 2008 was the Year of the Vampire. Of course, Twilight has something to do with it. Maybe 2009 will be year of the werewolf?

No surprise to tween girls or their parents, the best-selling book was “Breaking Dawn,” also known as the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga.

Robert Pattinson fights Shia LaBeouf

December 30th, 2008 by admin

Robert Pattinson could soon be stealing roles from Transformers star Shia LaBeouf.

It is thought that Shia is no longer hot enough and movie producers might choose to cast Twilight star Robert Pattinson instead.

Robert told the Big Issue: “It’s amusing to find myself in the same conversation as stars like Shia LaBeouf for a role in a Gladiator-style period film.

“I hope for the chance to play Jeff Buckley in the film of his life though I imagine the role will go to James Franco, because he looks so much like him.”

Robert wasn’t always popular with casting directors.

He admits: “But it’s funny how quick everything changes. After having a big period of unemployment, you think ‘OK, I’m not going to mess this up again.’ So no matter what the meeting is now, even if it’s for some dumb movie, I’m going to the meeting and giving the most complicated character breakdown I can think of.

“My only concern to be completely honest, is that I don’t want to be completely f***ed after this.

“I don’t want to be an idiot, and that’s always a distinct possibility.”
