Zac Efron vs. Robert Pattinson – Who will Be the Leading Leading Man?

July 31st, 2010 by admin

Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson are two of the most popular male actors at this time, being that they can make almost any movie having ratings through the roof. So, now we have to see the question being asked. Who will be the leading man, Zac or Robert? Who does it for you? I personally say Robert, but then I saw the commercial for Charlie St. Cloud and said…move over Robby, here comes some stiff competition!

Efron Wins! “If he plays his cards right, he could easily be the next Leonardo DiCaprio,” says tween-marketing specialist Ashley Dos Santos.

In addition to possessing the ability to inspire killer soundbites (like the one above), Efron can memorably model swim trunks, honorably acquit himself in an art-house movie (Me and Orson Welles), and credibly, and non-sleezily, talk strip clubs with Jimmy Kimmel. In other words, the 22-year-old is a credit to his own peer group.

“When you look at him in interviews, he has a certain approachability,” Dos Santos says. “I think if he can prove his acting chops, Efron will definitely gain acceptance among twentysomethings.”

One advantage he’s got over Pattinson? The High School Musical grad has moved off the covers of the OMG!-ing Bops of the world, per Dos Santos, while Pattinson remains in their grip, thanks to the not-yet-done Twilight franchise.

Pattinson Wins! OK, so maybe some of Team Edward’s audience is still on the young side. But at least it was never on the Wildcat-crazed tween side.

“Zac has the same ‘problem’ as Miley Cyrusin aging up the audience,” youth-marketing consultant Allison Ellis said in an email. “[Pattinson] never had this issue because audiences never met him until Twilight.”

And while Remember Me didn’t break any box-office (or critical) records, Pattinson’s world-famous mug helped the romantic weepie ultimately gross more than triple its budget. (In a crowded weekend at the multiplex, the jury’s out on whether Charlie St. Cloud will top Remember Me‘s own modest domestic opening weekend.) In any case, Pattinson is money—or at least money enough to land Reese Witherspoon for his new leading lady.

Also, his new haircut(for the Witherspoon movie, Water for Elephants)? Not a bad answer to Efron’s torso.

Melissa Rosenberg on What to Expect when Bella’s Expecting

July 29th, 2010 by admin

“I’ve written and continue to rewrite it, working on it with Bill Condon … I know what I want to see, which is, I want to see the terror of the experience. I want to have the experience of the fear and feel her pain. I want to feel everyone’s pain in this.”

Still, Rosenberg said that there are some of the gruesome elements of the scene — like Edward (Robert Pattinson) having to give Bella what has been dubbed a “vampire caesarian” — that she doesn’t think need to be included in the scene.

“I want it to be visceral, so that is what’s most important. Do I want to see teeth in placenta? No,” she said. “Someone else may. I don’t actually want to see that, but to each his own.”

Breaking Dawn Casting This Could Be Garrett?

July 29th, 2010 by admin

Pushing Daisy’s Lee Pace  is apparently said to be a contender for nomad Garrett in Breaking Dawn. According to GossipCop, although Lee might be at the top of the production wish list, he’s not been contacted regarding the role. I think this would be an awesome Garrett. I haven’t seen Lee in much, but I loved him in Marmaduke, Pushing Daisy’s and so on. So Summit, get on it, we’d love Lee as Garrett.
Thanks to this source for a heads up.
